Kali (aka Thesis) was born in Hollywood, California and was raised among the eclectic artists and musicians performing along the boardwalk of Venice Beach. At an early age, Kali found himself drawn to the melodic tempo, hard-hitting instruments and the rhythmic flow pattern that define hip hop, and he slowly developed his own musical style, inspired by early hip hop icons like Pharcyde, Nas, 2pac and Method Man.

After moving to Orange County in 1996, Kali began recording at a local studio. His drive for success and passion for music ultimately placed him on the path that led him to Nonsense, his musical counterpart of Akronymz. Kali remains firmly rooted in his Hawaiian heritage, while simultaneously representing west coast hip hop at its finest. Combining the profound, intelligent lyrical style of east coast hip hop with the top back, feel-good sound of the west coast, Kali has created a unique style unlike anything—and anyone—before him.
