Influenced by hip-hop legends like 2pac, Notorious B.I.G., the Roots, and Talib Kweli, Akronymz fuse the original feel of hip-hop with the ever-evolving energy of today’s music to create a sound that any fan of hip-hop—be it old-school or modern—cannot resist. What began as a one-song collaboration between the two in 2002 quickly turned into a lasting partnership based on mutual respect and an unsurpassable love for the hard-hitting beats and lyrical artistry that is hip-hop. Both artists draw on their own life experiences—the good and the bad—for inspiration for their songs and when it comes to live performances, Akronymz fans are never disappointed: Akronymz hold nothing back and leave it all on the stage each and every time.

Returning from a hiatus after the 2007 release of their debut album, Vinyl Destination, Akronymz are back in studio laying down one hot track after another for their second album, ‘A’ Game. Kali says of the much-anticipated release of this second album, “Because we had such a long lay-off between Vinyl Destination and the new album, we knew we needed to raise the bar this time around. We had to have more song variety (from grimy underground tracks to club-friendly dance songs), harder-hitting beats, and stronger lyrics. We knew this time, we needed to bring our A game. And that is exactly what we brought to this album.”
